Welcome to a new school year which will be filled with creativity

My name is Clarene Spennato and I am privileged to be exposed to the creative expression of the students of Springfield Township.
I try to embrace the individuality of the students I work with and find that every experience is one of learning and growth that enriches us as humans.
I spend some of my time outside of school hiking, camping, kayaking, gardening, reading, visiting art museums and galleries and try to venture to environments to expose myself to the differences others have offer.  A cross-culture teaching exchange in Costa Rica was a rewarding experience as was the venture to the San Blas Islands to view how the fabric Molas were made by the Kuna Indians.
The art program at Springfield Township is available to the students three and a half days of a school week.  This time is filled with a variety of art techniques and mediums for the students to express themselves artistically as the unique individuals that they are.

I would like to suggest that an old shirt or apron be sent to school with your child with his/her name to be used when paint or ink are used.  This may be kept in a bag in the classroom and brought to class when needed.
