Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from Rider University.
WOW…time flies when you're having fun! This will be my 13th year teaching but I've been working in education for over 20 years. I'm going on my 10th year at Springfield (9th year teaching full-day Kindergarten). I also taught (full-day) kindergarten in another district for 3 years. Prior to teaching, I was a paraprofessional for over ten years which inspired me to go to college and earn my teaching degree.
I absolutely LOVE teaching kindergarten! I find that the children grow so much academically and socially throughout the school year. I believe that it is very important that the children feel safe, comfortable, and care and help one another. I enjoy helping them become independent thinkers and learners, as we build a "friendly" community together.
In addition to being a teacher, I am a wife and a mother of two. I have the cutest “Jug” dog (Jack Russell/Pug) named Peanut who is either extremely active or is sleeping (and snoring). I also inherited my parents' dog named Mila who LOVES to receive attention. I enjoy going to the mountains with my family and taking trips to the lake to ride on our boat.
I am looking forward to another wonderful year teaching Kindergarten at Springfield!
