WOW…time flies when you're having fun! This will be my 14th year teaching but I've been working in education for over 20 years.  I'm going into my 11th year at Springfield. I also taught (full-day) kindergarten in another district for 3 years. Prior to teaching, I was a paraprofessional for over ten years which inspired me to earn my teaching degree.

I absolutely LOVE teaching kindergarten! I find that the children grow so much academically and socially throughout the school year. I believe that it is very important that the children feel safe, comfortable, and care and help one another. I enjoy helping them become independent thinkers and learners, as we build a "friendly" community together.

In addition to being a teacher, I am a wife and mother of two (who are now both married).  I have the cutest “Jug” dog (Jack Russell/Pug) named Peanut who is either extremely active or is sleeping (and snoring). I also inherited my parents' dog named Mila who LOVES to receive attention.  I enjoy going to the mountains with my family and spending time out on our boat on the lake. Most importantly, I am happy to say that I have become a proud "Grammy" to two grand babies. Whoo hoo!

I am looking forward to another wonderful year teaching Kindergarten at Springfield!
