I want to extend a warm welcome to our classroom.  I am looking forward to meeting my new class and sharing a little about ourselves and our relaxing summer!
A little about myself:  I have been teaching for 37 years; 33 years at Springfield Township School. I love teaching and watching as my 6th graders gain confidence and independence as they strive to make wise and healthy decisions.  My husband, Pat, retired from teaching after 29 years.  This past August 1st, we celebrated our 21st anniversary.  I have two grown children who make me proud each and every day.  My son, Daniel, is a graduate of Rowan University with a degree in Criminal Justice. He has been a Philadelphia Police Officer for 8 years now and keeps me on edge as he protects and serves his community.  He lives in Northeast Philadelphia and loves the city life.  My daughter, Katie, is a graduate of Stockton State College and has a Masters from Widener University in Business.  She is a manager for Target Stores, and currently manages her own store in Northeast Philadelphia.  My son-in-law, Brian, works for JP Morgan in Willmington, Delaware. Katie and Brian just celebrated their 5 year anniversary and have blessed us with the gift of 3 loving grandchildren: Grace; 15 yrs.,  Declan; 13 yrs., and Sophia who will be turning 4 in November.
We have had Danes for 20 years and also do volunteer work to help place Danes in a "Forever Home".  We are hoping to be Dane parents again this winter! Included in our "furry" children, we also rescued 2 playful black cats; Callie & Leah.
My husband and I share 1 hobby by participating in "Cowboy" reenactments that are held monthly. We spent most of our summer babysitting our youngest granddaughter, Sophia and enjoyed a wonderful Disney Cruise with the grandkids.

I am looking forward to a great year with all of the 6th grade students.
