Hi! My name is Wendy Kolev; my family and I have resided in the township for eleven years. I remember driving by Springfield Township School when we first moved into the township and thinking I would love to teach and learn in this quaint building, and here I am beginning my 11th year in our special school district! I have always considered it an honor to learn with the students in my classes. Each and every year of new learners has been an exciting and rewarding experience.
On my personal side, I have two sons: Josh, a student at the University of Rochester working towards his doctorate in Chemistry; and, Peter, a third-year cadet at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Now that my children have spread their wings and flown the coop, there is only my husband and I and a big hairy German Shepherd named Zuess living in our home.
Traveling is a huge love of mine; this summer I spent part of the summer break traveling for two weeks on the back of my husband’s motorcycle! My other love, reading, travels with me wherever I go. I am never without my Kindle filled with numerous books – my own personal library!
One of the most amazing aspects of teaching children is that by the end of the year, I have learned and grown academically with my students, watching each and every one of them strive to reach their highest potential. I look forward to a fun-filled learning experience with this year’s students.
