Maternity Leave Elementary Education  – Springfield Elementary School

Location: Springfield Elementary School, Jobstown (Burlington County) NJ
Position Type: Temporary (Maternity Leave Coverage)
Anticipated Start Date / End Date: December 1, 2026 / May 1, 2027

Application Deadline: August 21, 2026

Compensation: $116 per day (days 1 – 60); $270 per day (day 61 – completion)

Responsibilities:

1.       Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and educational standards, fostering the intellectual and social development of students.

2.       Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that promotes student learning.

3.       Provide instruction to students using a variety of instructional strategies, materials, and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles.

4.       Assess and evaluate student performance, progress, and learning outcomes using various assessment tools, and provide constructive feedback to students and parents/guardians.

5.       Establish and maintain effective communication and collaboration with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues to support students' educational progress and address individual needs.

6.       Use technology effectively to enhance instruction and student learning experiences.

7.       Implement and uphold classroom management strategies that promote discipline, respect, and cooperation among students.

8.       Participate in staff meetings, professional development activities, and school-wide events as required.

Qualifications:

1.       NJ certification (Elementary School Teacher in Grades K-6 or P-3) or eligibility for same, required. 

2.       Strong knowledge of child development principles, instructional strategies, and classroom management techniques and best practice strategies.

3.       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents/guardians, administration, and colleagues.

4.       Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.

5.       Passion for teaching and fostering a love for learning in students.

6.       Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

7.       Proficiency in utilizing technology in the classroom.

8.       Adherence to ethical guidelines and professional standards in education.
